Always check your moles or any skin lesions at your Dermatologist, in order to prevent cancer transformation.
The most important warning sign of melanoma is a new spot on the skin or a spot that is changing in size, shape, or color.
Another important sign is a spot that looks different from all of the other spots on your skin (known as the ugly duckling sign).
If you have one of these warning signs, have your skin checked by a doctor.
The ABCDE rule is another guide to the usual signs of melanoma. Be on the lookout and tell your doctor about spots that have any of the following features:
Some melanomas don’t fit these rules. It’s important to tell your doctor about any changes or new spots on the skin, or growths that look different from the rest of your moles.
Other warning signs are:
Excision: A surgical procedure to carefully remove the lesion, especially useful for larger or deeper lesions.
Cryotherapy: The use of extreme cold to freeze and remove common skin lesions like warts and skin tags.
Electrocautery: The application of electrical currents to burn and remove unwanted lesions.
Laser Therapy: Utilizing advanced laser technology to precisely remove skin lesions, often with minimal scarring.
Topical Medications: For certain types of lesions, we may recommend topical treatments that facilitate their gradual removal.
